Tips For Improving Fuel
Economy and Saving Money!
Avoid Exessive idiling. Idiling longer than 60 seconds
consumes more gas than stopping and restarting.
Combine trips. Several short trips can use twice as much
fuel as one long trip of the same distance.
Drive sensibly. Aggressive driving (speeding, rapid
acceleration and braking) wastes gas.
Observe the speed limit. While each vehicle reaches it's
optimal fuel economy at different speed or range, gas mileage usually decreases rapidly at speeds above 60 mph.
Avoid traveling with unnecessary items; for every 100 lbs
a vehicle carries, fuel economy drops by 2%.
Utilize cruis control. This can increase mileage by up to 10%
on long trips.
Using proper engine oil reduces friction; replacing spark plugs
and properly inflating tires improves fuel economy up to 30%!!!
